MODO Goes Back to Its Roots
February (New York, NY) -
MODO’s goes back to its roots with its Spring/Summer 2013 collection by adding styles to their signature acetate and titanium lines while also introducing a new series of unique shaved acetate frames, super-thin titanium looks and two vintage pieces. MODO’S designs are known for their incredible attention to detail and superior quality. All pieces are handmade and lovingly finished in Japan. Metals are all Titanium – the premier material for eyewear (ultra-light, hypo-allergenic, flexible yet incredibly strong and durable.) Plastics are chosen from the newest collections of Italian and Japanese handmade acetate each season.
The Acetate Collection contains two series, Shaved Acetate and Signature.
500 series – MODO Shaved Acetates
MODO introduces the Shaved Acetate collection, which contains four styles. The acetate frames have shaved accents on the brow, bridge or temples. Styles 530 and 531 have contrasting colored shaved brows, while styles 532 and 533 have contrasting colored shaved bridges and temples. This new style is retro-inspired and unique, yet wearable.
6000 series – MODO Signature Acetates
The Signature series features forward thinking shapes in brilliantly colored and textured Italian acetate in five new styles. Classic colors intermingle with vibrant colored crystals for unique effects. This season, MODO debuts “The New Black”, which is a Tortoise and Black gradient. The shapes are clean with modern silhouettes.
MODO’s Metal Collection represents three different concepts, Sculpted Titanium, Super Thin Titanium and Vintage
4000 series – Sculpted Titanium
Sculpted Titanium displays four new looks that are a continuation from last season. The styles have interior and exterior colors. The profile of the frame is thin despite the block titanium construction and bold colors are used so the effect is incredibly light, colorful and multidimensional. The result is double coloration that is understated, yet sophisticated.
Each style also features the signature MODO hinge detail echoed on each temple by a tiny raised square painted the same color as the temple.
MODO introduces the Super-Thin titanium series, which features three styles. The frames are very thin and include a new temple that does not have a plastic temple tip, instead the entire temple and temple tip is titanium. This new temple gives the frame a sleek, sophisticated and modern aesthetic.
MODO introduces two styles that represent classic MODO styles. Styles 4043 and 4044 are sophisticated, titanium frames that exhibit MODO’S core styles.
