MODO's 3.1 phillip lim Introduces 'Retro-Future'

New York, May 5th, 2010

Modo and 3.1 phillip lim extend their successful collaboration into the new season. The collection consists of 3 ophthalmic and 3 sunglass styles. The frames are inspired by explorers and other people of adventurous spirits, some being friends, some acquaintances, and some icons of Phillip.

Chic and sophisticated all pieces are hand-crafted by the finest Japanese artisans under the most strict quality standards. In the vision collection Style Nacho is inspired by Phillip Lim's favorite photographer in Barcelona, Spain and motivated by the photographer's talent, humor and sensibilities. Hence it features the exaggerated, intellectual, and rather baroque curved lines. Style Coco starts with a classic inspiration, and introduces new proportions.

Elegant and chic is style Este - perfect for the woman that wants to stand out.

Expressive colors like plum, pink and green/tort add to staples like blacks and greys.

In the sun collection, style Juergen brings a "retro-futuristic" look by combining metal and plastic in the front.

Doctora has special bridge detailing and enamel colorations on the eye rims that form an adventures and unusual look.

Style Holmes is an oversized plastic aviator with a retro-inspired raised keyhole bridge. The sun frames offer colors such as gold, white and navy.

The collection will be available at MODO's Nolita store in New York and 3.1 Phillip Lim's flagship stores in New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, as well as selected locations in the US and worldwide.
